A pontoon fire pit would be a great addition to your boat.
They look great aesthetically, but they also provide you with warmth and can be used to roast marshmallows with family or friends.
They’re great for camping out on your pontoon boat. This is something that me and my family do a lot during the holidays. In fact, I have a guide in which I go into detail about pontoon camping.
A fire pit will provide your boat with a warming, homely feel. When everyone’s sitting around the fire pit it reminds me of home when the family is sitting around the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.
Some people have argued that a fire pit isn’t the safest thing to have on your pontoon. Though it could be a safety hazard, with proper care and usage you won’t be putting anyone at risk. Just make sure you keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
This means that it’s completely safe if you don’t do anything stupid. Common sense goes a long way. If you have kids onboard, you’ll want to teach them how to be safe around the fire pit.
Where to Buy a Pontoon Fire Pit?
Originally, there was a brand called ‘Pontoon Fire Pit’ which produced fire pits and marketed them specifically for pontoon boats. They launched with a bang and were very popular. They’ve now closed however the demand for fire pits still stand.
Lucky for us, these ‘pontoon fire pits’ were just outdoor fire pits but marketed towards pontoon boat owners. This means that boat owners have now realized they can buy an outdoor fire pit and install it onto the deck of their boat.
I’ll provide you with a few of the best fire pits, suitable for your pontoon boat:
- Product Overall Size: 28Lx28Wx24H (inch)
- Steel Construction with Stainless Steel Burner and Table lid Cover
- Heat Output: 48,000 BTU's
- Durable Mocha powder coated
This truly is a luxurious fire pit that would look great on your pontoon boat.
This fire pit can be used as a table when the fire is not needed. This is a great feature as it means that it won’t just take up space on your boat and be a burden when not in use. Instead, it’s always useful and a great place to plonk your drinks onto.
It is very well built with steel construction and stainless-steel burner and lid cover. It is coated with a durable Mocha powder which will ensure a long lifespan. It has an access door which makes exchanging the propane tank very easy.
Lava rocks are included in the purchase, so you don’t have to worry about that immediately. Though, bear in mind that the gas tank is not included.
Overall, I’d say this is one of the better fire pits on the market. I’m sure you’ll be more than happy with your purchase. There are plenty of customer reviews and answered questions on Amazon so head over there to check them out by Clicking Here.

This fire pit table features a premium stainless steel and cast aluminium construction. The cast aluminium frame is extremely tough and durable, through still lightweight. It looks just as good as it is well built. I’m a big fan of the rustic woodgrain textured table top.
One thing I really like about this fire pit is that the table can still be used whilst the fire is in use. There’s still a lot of space for cups and glasses even when the fire is up.
This fire pit table is a lot wider than the previously reviewed one. Depending on what you’re looking for, that could be a benefit or a drawback. If your pontoons roomier and has empty space, then this could be the perfect addition.
The thermocouple valve senses flame presence and automatically closes the gas valve if flames are extinguished. This is an added safety feature which will prevent the pit from spitting out gas if the fire is out.
Overall, this is a very impressive fire pit which will act as an awesome centerpiece for your pontoons deck. This will keep you warm on a cold night, but also act as an outdoor coffee table. You wouldn’t believe how cheap this product is, you can find it on Amazon by Clicking Here.

Now this must be my favourite fire pit table on the market. It has so many different amazing features and functionalities. I’ll try my best to explain some of the best.
The burner pan and all fasteners are made from a beautiful stainless steel. The valve knob and rings are all chrome-plated. Outland have not messed around when it came to the design of this product. All the colours and materials used perfectly complement each other. Truly luxurious indeed.
Included with the table is 15.5 lb of decorative glass rock. This is by far better than lava rocks as the glass provides a beautiful reflection of the dancing flames. Overall, the glass is a lot more aesthetically pleasing; it just looks fantastic.
It comes in a variety of different colors and shapes, meaning you’re bound to find something that fits your boat. The colors available are Slate Grey and Espresso Brown. It comes in a rectangle or a square shape. I love having options available, Outland Living has done a great job at providing their customers with solid options.
Other features include an automatic ignition, easy storage access, pre-attached hose with regulator.
Overall, hands down in my opinion this is the best fire pit table on the market. With hundreds of reviews and answered questions you can be certain of what to expect!
You wouldn’t believe what a bargain this is, I was shocked when I seen how little this product costs compared to the value you’re getting. You can find the product on Amazon by Clicking Here.

Why Buy a Fire Pit?
Just like some people buy a fireplace just for the aesthetic rather than the actual use. Fire pits look great on a pontoon boat.
The addition of a fire pit can give your pontoon a whole new feel. After fitting one in, my boat felt a lot more premium. Seriously, a fire pit brings you one-step closer to having a luxury pontoon boat. A lot of higher-end boats have this feature; however, you can also have it at an affordable price.
The warmth that a fire pit produces is also a huge benefit. This is especially important if you like boating into the evening when the temperature starts to drop. The fire pit helps keeps yourself and your passengers warm. This makes boating in lower temperatures viable. Instead of cutting your trip short when it starts to get a bit cold, you can continue for a bit longer with the aid of the useful heat source.
It’s genuinely enjoyable sitting around the fire pit with your family, discussing all the events and fun you’ve had throughout the day. The pontoon fire pit acts as a mediator and draws the family together. This is a lovely feeling, comparable to sitting around a campfire with marshmallows.
What to Look for In a Boat Fire Pit?
If you’ve never owned a fire pit before and are unsure as to what you’re looking for, I’ll give you a hand by explaining the key aspects of a good fire pit.
The size of the fire pit is very important as you’ll want to make sure you buy one that will fit onto your boat. If you’ve got a small pontoon boat without much space then you’ll obviously want to get a smaller fire pit. Even if you can squeeze a larger fire pit onto your boat, if you’ve not got much room then it’s not a good idea. You don’t want to make your pontoon feel cramped.
If you’ve got a larger boat and you’ve got more than enough room then it would be better to go with a bigger, wider fire pit as it will help fill in the space. Most fire pits can also be used as tables when they’re not in use so the space taken up is always used efficiently.
All good fire pits will have a storage compartment for the gas tank. This allows you to store your pits gas tank safely. A gas tank is not something you want to have laying around on your boat. This makes it very important that you have somewhere to store it.
All the firepits I’ve mentioned above have some sort of storage compartment for the gas tank.
This makes fire pits a good storage solution for your pontoon boat.
This one goes without saying, an attractive design is always nice to have. Some people may not care about design and only care about functionality however, I think most people want to have some balance. Personally, I want everything to look just as good as it works.
The design of the fire pit should be consistent with your boats interior design. You don’t want it to look out of place. It looks best when the fire pit looks like it’s part of your boat. If you can tell that someone’s bought a fire pit and installed it themselves then you know they haven’t put much thought into their choice of product.
Your fire pit is likely to be your pontoons centrepiece so try your best to make it look as good as possible.
Overall, all the firepits I’ve mentioned in this article provide great value for money and I’m sure you’d be happy with any of them. I’ve provided you with a description and review of all of them to help you narrow down which is best for your situation.
Despite this, you should also do your own diligence and read through their reviews. This will help you gain a better understanding of what each product has to offer.
If you’re looking for other new ways to spice up your boat, I have an article in which I recommend the best pontoon boat accessories. You can find that article by Clicking Here.
