We only live once so we should make the most out of the life we’ve been given, which means having the most fun possible. If you want to take water fun to the next level, you should consider purchasing an inflatable pontoon boat slide. I’d recommend one for anyone.
My favorite pontoon accessory is a good pontoon boat slide, they’re so simple yet provide a tremendous amount of fun. These are great fun for the whole family, though they’re especially great for kids. Since the slide won’t be very high due to the height of your boat, this is a safe activity for younger children.
They’re especially effective during the summer or whenever it’s warm outside. There’s nothing better than plunging into the cool water after baking in the sun all day. Slides provide an enjoyable way of staying cool.
Pontoon boat slides don’t require much preparing, just ensure that you pump it up and get it a little bit wet before you use it. I’ll be providing some tips on inflating and maintaining your slide later in this guide.
The Freefall Extreme is one of AquaGlide’s best slides suitable for a pontoon boat. This is an outstanding boat, one of the highest quality on the market. There are many reasons why this is the best pontoon boat slide on this list. The reviews on this boat will further backup my following points.
First, this is a beautiful slide. It has been manufactured with a very appealing design which I sure to catch some eyes if boating on a public lake. Constructed with commercial grade reinforced PVC material, this is a very high-quality slide which should last you a long time if maintained properly.
This slide features a climbing feature which helps younger children climb to the top of the slide. It had heavy duty molded handles which make boarding and climbing very convenient. This is great as the slide is likely to be very wet which can make such activities difficult. This isn’t a feature that a lot of slides have, so it’s great that they include this.
A 3-year limited warranty is also included in your purchase. There’s nothing worse than having a slide break due to a manufacturing defect. The included warranty is great as it will keep you covered for any manufacturing defects which your product may have.
One of my favorite things about this slide is that it has a fairly large weight capacity. It has a weight capacity of 200lb. This is perfect as it means that the slide can accommodate for adults as well as children. Many boat slides will only be suitable for children, but not this one. If you don’t go over the weight capacity, the slide shouldn’t rip.
One thing which you’ll need to keep in mind if you purchase this product is that fact that it doesn’t come with a storage bag. This comes at an inconvenience for some, however most customers don’t seem to mind. Just ensure you have somewhere to store it.
There’s only a few drawbacks to this product apart from the price. This is a rather expensive product so not everyone will be able to afford one. Despite this, I’d highly recommend that you make the investment as you will be glad that you did. If you cannot afford the product then there are still plenty of cheaper alternatives below.
- Sturdy Build
- Attractive Design
- Climbing Feature
- Suitable for adults also
- Storage Bag not included
This is another great pontoon boat slide which comes from a manufacturer well-known for it’s water sports products. This is a good sign as it comes from a seller who’s familiar with the industry. It’d be a bad sign if a brand known for manufacturing great vacuums attempted to sell a pontoon slide. Recently I’ve reviewed one of their towable tubes and discovered that they also had one of the best slides on the market.
The slide is manufactured from heavy-duty reinforced PCV. This makes for a high-quality build which shouldn’t rip or tear easily. It could last you many years if maintained properly and not misused.
The slide comes with a 12V high pressure inflator/deflator. This is essential when purchasing any type of large inflatable. This makes setting-up and taking down the slide very quick and simple. With the use of this pump you’ll have a fully inflated slide in just a few minutes. It’s advertised to inflate within just 5 minutes and provide many hours of enjoyment.
When deflated, it’s extremely compact which makes storage easy. It’s advertised to be able to fit in a cooler or duffel bag. When you’re done using the slide you simply deflate It and it rolls up to be the size of a sleeping bag. This is great and something that the Freefall Extreme does poorly. Therefore, the RAVE Sports slide is much more compact-able and makes for easier storage.
There are few complaints about this slide. Similarly, to the first slide recommended, this slide doesn’t come with a bag for storage. This means that you’ll have to find an alternative storage method for this product. This isn’t too much of a problem due to how compact the product is. You should be able to fit the product into any duffel bag or the trunk of your boat.
- Extremely Compact
- Moulded Vinyl Steps
- High Pressure Inflator Included
- Manufactured from Heavy-Duty Reinforced PCV
- Storage Bag not included
SPORTSSTUFF is another great brand known for its water sports products. They have a great reputation for their outstanding products, I’ve recently reviewed many of their towable tubes. Now it’s time to review one of their inflatable pontoon boat slides which happens to be one of the best on the market.
First, just like the other products on this list; the Spillway inflatable is constructed from heavy duty UV treated 1,000 denier polyester reinforced PVC. This provides the slide with great durability. Ensuring that the slide will last you a long time. It could last you a few years if you maintain it properly and avoid misuse.
This slide features 4 inset molded steps as well as two molded handles. This makes climbing onto the slide more convenient. These are very useful especially in the wet conditions that you’ll be in. Almost an essential feature for children to climb onto the slide without the assistance of adults.
I love the design of this product, it consists of very bright, vibrant colors that your children will love. This may not mean much to you as an adult however colors mean a lot to children and will significantly affect their emotions. It’s a well-known fact that brighter colors translate to brighter moods, meaning that you’re more likely to have a great time.
The most significant drawback to this product is the fact that it doesn’t come with an inflator/deflator. This is a problem on its own, but this product also requires a specific type of valve adapter. A standard air pump will not be sufficient. That has been made very clear in the reviews of this product. Because of this, you’ll have to purchase the recommended adapter if you intend on using this slide.
This product requires a Halkey-Roberts valve adapter (H-Valve). This may be a problem for you if you already have a standard air pump and don’t want to spend any extra money on a new pump. Though for most of you this probably won’t be a problem for you, in which case you’ll just have to order the specified pump along with the slide.
You should be able to inflate and install the slide to your boat within just five minutes. You’ll then be provided with hours of fun. This is great as no time is wasted having to wait for the slide to inflate. Many of the cheaper inflatables which I haven’t included on this list can take up to 30 minutes to fully inflate.
- Attractive Design
- Climbing Features
- Constructed from Heavy-Duty Material
- Inflates quickly
- Inflator not included
Tips for Maintaining Your Pontoon Boat Slide
Choose a good location: It’s important that you find a suitable location. You don’t want to be using your pontoon boat slide in a windy location. These slides are inflatable and can be thrown up into the air if there are heavy winds. This makes it important to set-up somewhere protected from winds, and preferably somewhere quiet so that you’re not disturbed.
This also involves identifying appropriate water depth. You want to be in water deep enough for you to dive into. You don’t want to be sliding into shallow waters that you can’t fully submerge into, that’s no fun.
Wet Your Slide: Before using your slide, you should make sure that you get it wet with a little bit of water. You could alternatively get yourself wet by taking a quick dunk in the water before using your slide. This is important as there’s nothing worse than scraping along a dry slide and burning off skin.
Store it properly: It’s important that you take good care with your slide, this includes storing it properly. By taking care with the storage of your slide you can greatly increase the life-span of it. This is particularly important during the off-season when you won’t be using it for a long time. You should dry it off comprehensively and roll it up. It should then be put into a container which will keep insects out and store it somewhere safe.
